Antoinette “Toni” Lafayette : the oldest sibling, white, woman, late 40s/early 50s, trying to hold it all together but not succeeding
Rhys Thurston : Toni’s son, white, late teens, actor must be 18 or over but look younger, fresh from rehab, over it all
Beauregarde “Bo” Lafayette : ALREADY CAST. the middle sibling, white, man, late 40s/early 50s, well-meaning business man who worries about the bottom line
Rachael Kramer-Lafayette : Bo’s wife, white, late 40s, protective mom trying to make family memories
*Cassidy “Cassie” Kramer-Lafayette : their older child, white, girl, early teens, thinks she is an adult and tries to prove it
*Ainsley Kramer-Lafayette : their younger child, white, boy, under 10 years old, overactive, curious, no spoken lines but important to the action
Francois “Franz/Frank” Lafayette : the youngest sibling, white, man, late 30s/early 40s, returning after a long disappearance, a changed man
River Rayner : Franz’s fiancee, white, woman, early 20s, but looks younger, supportive, looks for the good in everything/everyone, believes in spirits
*It is recommended that a parent discuss the content of the play with our director, Alicia Chaisson, before auditioning for Cassie and Ainsley. Send us a message with your contact info, and we will pass it along to Alicia.
Note: It is important that all characters present as white, due to the story's major theme of racism.
